PHILOSOPHY
AND PRACTICE

I am an acupuncturist and herbalist practicing in Tkaronto / Toronto. I am also a gardener active in protecting land, water and wildlife.

Acupuncture, herbal medicine and cupping, along with guasha and moxa, are modalities that work with our own body mind and spirit to facilitate transformations. Listening to our body’s patterns and cues is integral to balancing our health and transforming through our pain. This medicine also connects us with our body/mind and strengthens our understanding and discovery of our own healing power.

I have worked with people experiencing HIV+ at the Toronto People with Aids Foundation, and have spent the majority of my acupuncture experience working in a community clinic setting where folks are treated in a room full of other people receiving acupuncture at the same time. These have both greatly shaped my practice. I am a big advocate of accessible medicine for all people.

I practice with an anti-oppressive, trauma aware, anti-racist and de-colonizing approach. My practice is an LGBTQIA2S+ positive space.

FACIAL ACUPUNCTURE

 CUPPING

Cupping therapy uses suction through heat and glass cups to draw your skin and facia up in an inverse massage. Cupping feels like a massage and can be relaxing, used to release muscle tension, as well as work on deeper conditions. Cupping supports the immune system, helps work through digestive disorders, insomnia, and supports emotional and mental health to name a few.

Each appointment is 30 minutes. $50

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I want to shine awareness on the history of this land I practice on and live on. Tkaronto / Toronto is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. I also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit. I vow to continuously work toward reparations, gratitude and reciprocity to those who have been taking care of this land for so long before European contact.

I want to shine awareness and acknowledgement to the non-human ones who make up / live on this land of Tkaronto / Toronto. The plants, the rocks, the waters, the animals, insects and other creatures without whom we would not be who we are. I am learning so much from them and vow to continuously work to embody gratitude and reciprocity.

I want to shine awareness and acknowledge this medicine that I am practicing. It originates from China and is also practiced throughout other parts of the world. As someone who likely has no Chinese heritage I am very aware that this is not my culture, nor my language. I have so much to learn around what it is to be a white Canadian with primarily Scottish and other European heritage practicing a medicine from China. I see much value in learning from others, and of using medicine filled with awareness, love, and attention. I use this medicine to help people feel empowered, feel connected to themselves, and to give them tools to help them navigate the present, past, and future in a sustainable and supportive way. I am so grateful and humbled to be practicing TCM in Tkaronto / Toronto. I vow to continue to process my role in it and how to best honour and respect this medicine.
